On March 8th and 9th, together with University of Lausanne, EPFL, University of Geneva, University of Zurich, swissnex China participated in the European Higher Education Fair in Hong Kong. Universities from Germany, France, Italy, UK, Austria, etc., showcased their education in the fair and it has attracted around 5,000 visitors during 2 days, including many parents who are eager to plan the future of their children well in advance. The “Study in Switzerland” booth saw many visitors interested in the English programmes in Swiss universities. Other often asked questions are language qualifications, living cost and scholarship opportunities.
Right after the EHEF, on the March 10th was the APAIE (Asia Pacific Association for International Education) Conference and Exhibition 2013, where swissnex China participated as an exhibitor. Unlike EHEF, the purpose of this conference and exhibition is to share experience and share knowledge between education professionals and make this opportunity to network with universities from other part of the world. Representatives from Swiss Universities took turns to present in the “Study in Switzerland” booth as well as meeting their partner universities. Focusing on the conference theme of this year “An Ascendant Asia-Pacific: International Higher Education in the 21stCentury” , there are interesting workshops about Chinese higher education, university system in Hong Kong, international internship, etc.. Top Chinese universities like Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology gave informative presentations about the international strategy.
Under the occasion of EHEF and APAIE, swissnex took the initiative to hold the first Swiss alumni gathering in HK. Around 70 alumni joined the gathering and were very pleased to have the chance to meet Swiss graduates working in Hong Kong.
