4th Reception of the St.Gallen Symposium in Beijing

On May 2, 2013, St.Gallen will open its doors once more for the renowned St.Gallen Symposium. The conference is aimed at fostering intergenerational and intercultural dialogue between the decision makers of today and tomorrow.

As a prelude to the main event, the St.Gallen Symposium organizes local receptions around the world. They serve as appetizers for thought leaders in the respective countries – many of which will travel to St.Gallen in May – and usually shed light on one specific facet of the main topic.

On March 27th, 2013, the Embassy of Switzerland hosted the 4th Reception of the St.Gallen Symposium in Beijing. Under the topic “Rewarding Courage – The Future of Chinese Innovation” business leaders, young entrepreneurs, and promising students took a close look at what is needed in the future for China to continue thriving.

Panelists this year included Mr. Roland DECORVET, CEO, Nestlé China; Professor YAO Yang, Dean of National School of Development, Peking University; Dr. Geoffrey RIDDELL, Member of the Group Executive Committee and Chairman of APMEA region; Zurich Insurance Group; and Mr. TAN Yinglan, Venture Partner, Sequoia Capital (India) Singapore Ltd. The discussion was moderated by Mr. James CHAU, News Anchor, CCTV News. More than 40 business leaders and 30 master and PhD students from top universities in China attended the event.
