swissnex China, represented by Pascal Marmier and Nektarios Palaskas, was delighted to be part of two “China Briefings” that took place and were organized by ETHZ and EPFL. In Zurich, the audience was very interested in learning more about collaborative opportunities in China. Maio Chen also presented a general update on the SSSTC (Sino-Swiss Science and Technology) cooperation program and she explained that the next call for proposals will reopen at the end of the year. At EPFL, the China part followed similar presentations in the morning with colleagues from Singapore and India. The Rolex Learning Center was a very nice setting for a panel discussion that also covered other topics such as “Social media in China” (by Marc Laperouza of HEC Lausanne), the current economic situation (Nicolas Musy) and the next phase of innovation. We are very grateful to all the organizers of these two briefings and we look forward to another opportunity to closely connect Swiss academia and innovation with our Chinese ideas and expertise.
