By Duy Nguyen, Junior Project Manager - Innovation & Entrepreneurship
What an experience! The last 6 months spent as Junior Project Manager at swissnex China went quick as lightning. In February 2020, during the peak of the pandemic, I started my internship in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship team. My first day was not the most pleasant moment during my internship as most of my colleagues were working remotely and the ones in the office needed to respect some social distancing. But as far as the days passed, the masks fell and the smiles showed up!
I am very pleased to have been part of a highly dynamic and innovative team that connects Switzerland and China, two countries that are linked to me by blood and mind. One of my highlights was the organization of the first-of-its-kind Swisstech Pitchinar, online pitching in webinar format held on Zoom. The event received overwhelming interest with more than 950 registrants with a strong interest in Swiss technology and innovation. I feel very happy to have contributed to the success of the program and am proud to have helped to showcase Switzerland’s innovative edge to China. The experiences I have acquired at swissnex China helped me to grow and I am sure it will continue to serve me in the future.
Besides work, I also had the opportunities to learn and experience a lot about Chinese culture, language, food, and nightlife. I would like to thank everyone and especially my colleagues who become now some close friends for sharing some paths of my adventure, some travels around the different cities in China, some intense discussions around delicious food in the middle of the streets, some new dance moves at the highest rooftops... Those good stories and moments are part of the best episodes during my internship so far!
All good time has an end.
Shanghai! I am sure that we will see us again in the future. So, I will not say goodbye to you… but see you soon!
