swissnex China Celebrates 10 Years
On Friday, September 7th we had the immense honor of marking our historic milestone with Swiss Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann, Minister of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Swiss Ambassador Jean-Jacques de Dardel and a large high-level academic and business delegation! Since its inauguration on August 7, 2008, swissnex China has initiated or facilitated 211 agreements and collaborations between Swiss and Chinese higher education institutions, provided support to 117 Swiss startups and 300 projects as part of the Sino-Swiss S&T Cooperation program, and much much more.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to our former CEOs Hans Peter Hertig, Flavia Schlegel and Pascal Marmier, as well as the Embassy of Switzerland in the People's Republic of China, the five Consulates General in Greater China, Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, Swiss Business Hub, SwissCham China, Swiss Centre China, partners, stakeholders, friends, and former and current swissnex teams.
“Homes of Drones”: The Sino-Swiss Drone Night
On the occasion of of Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann's visit, we hosted the high level event 'Homes of Drones: The Sino-Swiss Drone Night' on Sep 7, for connecting the Swiss and Chinese drone ecosystems and bringing the best of both worlds together. The event brought together seven experts from Switzerland and China to share their knowledge and to have in depth discussions on the future trends in the drone industry. Two keynote speakers - Janick Mischler, Project Manager Development and Innovation of Swiss Post and Mengke Sun, from Business Development Center of JDX Lab Drone - gave their presentations and introduced the regulations and limitations of drones in Switzerland and China.
Moderated by Gary Mi (Chief of Staff, Drone Racing League), the panelists Lukas Meier (COO & Co-Founder of Fixposition), Kang Chen (Director of Commercial Solution, Yuneec International co.,ltd), Philippe Leyvraz (Product Manager of Flyability), Leon Zhao (COO & Co-Founder of Antwork) and shared their ideas about the newest trends of drones in Switerland and China.
The event was organized in partnership with SwissCham China and Presence Switzerland, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
