By Ruiye Wang, Junior Project Manager - Digital Hospitality
- Words have limited capacity to describe how proud I feel to be part of the Swissnex in China team for the past six months.
Same as my predecessor, Tiantian, I am a senior bachelor student from École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), taking responsibility as the Junior Project Manager - Digital Hospitality at Swissnex in China, working for both EHL and Swissnex in China with 50% workload on each side. My main tasks include CRM, online/offline/hybrid event coordination & support, conducting food tech research for Givaudan, marketing & recruitment activity from the EHL side, and facilitating collaboration between Swissnex in China and EHL.
Entering Swissnex in China was a milestone since I stepped out of my comfort zone. My major is Science of International Hospitality Management, mainly service and management-oriented. My knowledge regarding high tech and innovation is relatively insufficient. However, adventure is never something easy to accomplish. Fortunately, at Swissnex, I have a super supportive team that keeps me motivated and thirsty for new knowledge.
Speaking of some big moments, China International Import Exposure, China Education Expo, and Swiss Education Fair are definitely unforgettable moments that I have had. Especially Swiss Education Fair in Guangzhou was my first business trip going alone and representing Swiss public universities and Swissnex in China to provide audiences with detailed information. Working for Swissnex is one of the best experiences that I have had in my life so far since I have a strong feeling of adding value to our society and strengthening the bonding between Switzerland and China.
My personal development won’t be easily achieved without a supportive team that guided me through all the company and activity information. And thanks to all my colleagues for supporting me tirelessly through these six months whenever I need some wisdom. Since I’m going back to Switzerland to finish my education, I am leaving our office physically. However, Swissnex in China to me is a new home in Shanghai; the connection will remain digitally and spiritually. I am always home.
