Never Say Goodbye

By Lefei Chen, Junior Project Manager - Academic Relations

On March 1st, 2021, after nearly one-month quarantine, I started my internship at Swissnex in China. For me, this is not only my first job after graduation but also the continuation of a strong connection with Switzerland. I still remember how relieved I felt to be able to work normally as pre-pandemic time. Eating out together, team outings, hybrid conferences, webinars, etc., so many amazing memories emerged within the 6 months, and I was so lucky to be welcomed by kindness and be embraced with solidarity.

Different from my past working experiences which are mostly about conducting desk research, this position is much more vibrant, diverse, and interactive with a broader scope. I got the chance to follow up the whole process of a large-scale project including checking the venues, prepare and control logistics, liaison with participants, inviting stakeholders from academia, industries and government. I am honored to represent Switzerland and participated in many influential exhibitions and conferences to showcase frontier Swiss technologies and to connect Switzerland, China and the world in science, research, education and innovation. Though sometimes the work is intense, as a team we can always cooperate to excel!

The past 6 months were quick but unforgettable. I believe Swissnex has empowered me with enough energy and confidence to start my early-stage career life.
