European Day at Fudan 2015, May 8

The year of 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of EU-China relations and the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Switzerland and China.

Against this backdrop, swissnex China and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, along with the Consulate General of Austria, France, Finland in Shanghai and some educational institutions (EMA, OEAD, Campus France, DAAD, Alliance Francaise de Shanghai, CIMO and Balassi Institute) jointly held the activity of the European Day at Fudan University.

The event attracted hundreds of students from Fudan university and other universities nearby (Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Tongji University). Don’t believe me? See for yourselves. People just love Switzerland.

Some came to enquire more information about higher education in Switzerland and got some personalized suggestions from Linda Lou (Project Leader of Academic Relations of swissnex) and several interns. We brought along brochures from EPFL, UNIL, ETHZ, University of St. Gallen and other universities, as well as some leaflets that cover detailed information about studying in Switzerland and the education system in general.

Some came to gain more knowledge about Switzerland as a whole, its innovation, technology breakthroughs, landscape, travelling, so on and so forth.

Some came for the cheese!

Some came for the chocolates and Happy Lilly. Sadly, they can only take the chocolates home.

This is not just a bar of chocolate, it is a token of the genuine friendship between the Swiss and the Chinese. Both party have exchanged their views on important issues (and their WeChat account) and probably will establish diplomatic ties in the days to come.

Pascal Marmier, CEO of swissnex China, delivered a speech on general information about Switzerland, and events that are held or are to be held by swissnex China.

Swiss interns from the University of Geneva, University of Lausanne and University of Applied Sciences of Fribourg also shared their life and education in Switzerland with students and teachers at Fudan.

Just during this onr event, we gained 153 more followers on our WeChat. Students are scanning the QR code to follow us! Big thank you to everybody and please stay tuned with us!
