Curious, curious, curious...

On Thursday October 25 we invited to the last lecture of this year’s BBQ lecture, dedicated to the topic “Innovation”. The four invited guest speakers are all experts in creativity, innovation and design and attracted a large audience.

Mr. Pierre Keller, the former President of University of Art and Design, Lausanne (ECAL), who is now working as international curator and advisor of Ingenious Switzerland, talked about Swiss design and why he thinks Swiss Design is Good Design and why a good designer needs to have humour.

Patrick Reymond is the co-founder of the Atelier Oï talked about the importance of building creative environment to enable creative minds to innovate.  

Ms Liu Yan, co-founder of the co-working space Xindanwei and a key person in Shanghai in starting new initiatives, fostering young innovators, connecting people and enforce creativity shared her experience of creating innovative spirit in China. She also motivated the audience to think in new ways and try to ask question and find new ways to common problems.

Prof. Lou Yongqi from Tongji Unversity talked about on of this latest project – Design Harvest, a concept of designing for rural-urban exchange. Further he explained how he established Tongji University as one of the leading design universities in China and how he fosters the young Chinese talents.

Following these presentations the speakers discussed about differences in the Swiss and Chinese innovation landscape and about different ways to foster and connect young talents around the globe.
